This is a sleek, heavy-duty standing desk that benefits computer users in a big way — all thanks to the great curvature in the desktop. Seville Classics ditches the typical straight front edge for an ergonomic curve design, which does wonders for protecting your wrists.
The desk has many features to love – from a great adjustable range, a strong and stable frame, and really easy assembly according to users. Not only this, but all of this comes at a reasonable price. In fact, the AirLift S3 currently has a 4.7 rating on Amazon from over 600 reviews, so they must be doing something right!
The main concern that I have with the desk is the lack of cable management. Although the company offers some accessories such as keyboard trays and monitor arms, there are no grommet holes or cable trays to store your cables. Although not a deal-breaker it can be worth considering.
Let’s get into the review and take a look at a few more features of this standing desk.

What Users Like About the AirLift S3 Electric Standing Desk
Even though the AirLift S3 needs a bit of assembling, it’s not as tiresome as one would expect from a sizable product. One reason is that some of the parts arrive in their respective positions: the thick legs, the dual-motor system, and the crossbeam. A second one would be how the screw holes are all pre-cut and lined up, saving you time.
Still, we recommend seeking assistance in moving the heavy package once it arrives. You could assemble the standing desk yourself — just call someone over to reposition the desk afterward. Setting up the whole AirLift S3 shouldn’t take more than two hours. In fact, around an hour is very much attainable.
The desk feet and the top need to be put together, but a lot of tools come included. There are bolt sleeves, washers, screws, a screwdriver, and bolts and Allen wrenches of varying sizes. Plus, there’s an extra number of screws in case you lose some.
If it’s your first time assembling an adjustable standing desk, there’s no cause for worry — the AirLift S3 is easier to set up than most Ikea furniture!
Moreover, many of the components have indicator stickers. These help you know whether you’re looking at the front and back sides or the top and bottom portions.
If assembly truly scares you, as it does for many people, we recommend you take a look at the iMovR Lander – it has a very unique no-tools assembly procedure.
There’s a great deal of durability with the AirLift S3 Standing Desk – first, its base frame is made of high-quality steel. One cannot deny the impressive strength of the leveling feet; they are designed to withstand up to 264 pounds.
If that doesn’t sound impressive, remember that the average laptop weighs a mere five pounds. Even a standard desktop computer is only 25 pounds. Thus, the AirLift S3 won’t have a problem supporting multiple computers and a ton of paperwork at the same time.
It’s also worth noting that this electric standing desk passed the strict standards set by the Business Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA). In particular, it complies with the ANSI/BIFMA X5.5 standards that check the level of safety and performance of office furniture products.
And while you will still experience a little bit of shaking, it is pretty much negligible. This is true even if you set the desktop at its highest height level of 51.4 inches.
People who type fast and press on their keyboard hard can rest assured that this standing desk can handle their regular work activities.
Optimal Height Adjustment
When it comes to lifting mechanisms, it’s always more preferable to have three-stage telescoping legs than the two-stage legs – especially if you will be using the desk in maximum height positions. If done right, using three-stage desk legs allows a bigger adjustment range without affecting stability.
Who benefits from a more varied height adjustment range? Everyone who needs to remain productive will, but most especially the short and tall individuals. If you are over 6′ tall, the three-stage telescoping legs will improve your comfort.
You can start at a height of 25.6 inches and work your way up until you find the most convenient height. There are other standing desks such as the Autonomous SmartDesk 2 – Business Edition and the GeekDesk v3 that have an even lower base height at just 23 inches, but 25.6 inches is already short enough for most people, especially considering a standard desk height is 29″.
With an upper height limit of 51.4 inches, the AirLift S3 ties with the ApexDesk Flex for the second highest maximum height. The Stand Up Desk Store’s Electric Standing Desk leads with 53 inches, but that one has a capacity of only 154 pounds.
So while the AirLIFT S3 isn’t the lowest or tallest standing desk in the market, it still packs an excellent height range without compromising its stability and maximum capacity.
Nearly every standing desk has a memory controller attached to it – but not all come with the desk like the AirLift’s controller. Often a memory controller will set you back an additional $50, but Seville Classics includes their 4-level preset memory controller with the desk.
A lot of desks now offer the curved desktop option as it is often considered more comfortable and ergonomic. Firstly, you can get your body closer to the desk and still have your forearms laying flat on the desktop, rather than pressing on the edge.
The curved front edge, therefore, protects your wrists as you use your computer – and users have praised it for its level of comfort when they use it.
What Users Didn’t Like
No Cable Management System
Seville Classics didn’t completely ignore the issue of messy cables ruining the sleek, contemporary aesthetics of their stand up desk. However, we would appreciate something more than just eight zip ties with adhesive tape.
These ties are temporary solutions to a problem that will always remain for many users. In addition, they don’t fit the overall look of the AirLift S3.
The lack of grommet holes in the desktop surface and no option for a cable tray is a bit of a surprise. These obviously aren’t necessities for the desk to do its primary job, but certainly they are helpful for cleaning up your office space.
For a desk with more customizability, we suggest you take a look at the Uplift desk.
Surface Not Very Resistant
The AirLift S3 is made of heavy-duty materials that help it move a heavy load without any trouble. But it seems like the desk surface needs some improvements. If you’re not fond of using coasters, you might want to place your tumbler or cup of hot coffee somewhere else.
Yes, the surface looks great whether it’s the white, walnut, or black variant. We also have heard great things about the textured feel to it — similar to the back of a book. Even if you don’t have a mousepad, you can use your mouse and directly place it on the matte surface.
However, the surface isn’t built to withstand stains. If you spill some coffee or juice on the table and not notice it immediately, the stain won’t disappear quickly. Some people even note that wiping away the spill within seconds does not completely remove the stain.
There are owners who use a bit of soap along with warm water to clean the surface, but it’s entirely up to you.
No desktop or frame size options
This is also a feature of the Autonomous SmartDesk 3 that we didn’t like so much, the fact that it only comes in one width.
There are so many desks on the market that have telescopic frames that give you multiple options. You can either buy the frame by itself and select the exact width of your desk, or you can choose one of the many sizes offered by the brand.
A good example of this is the Jarvis standing desk.
Is the AirLift S3 Electric Standing Desk for You?
There are several factors that make the AirLift S3 a good choice. If you’re on the computer all day every day in the office, you will benefit a lot from its curved front edge. You can finally keep your wrists from hurting even without using a wrist pad.
Moreover, the overall build and design of this standing desk are great. There are the three-stage telescoping legs that help you adjust the desk much lower or higher compared to other models, whilst maintaining a higher level of stability. The maximum weight capacity isn’t the highest at 264 lbs, but certainly should be enough for most users. One oversight we think was the lack of cable management, but this can be overcome pretty easy with zip ties and clips.
Actually one of the best features of the desk is an extremely long return period of 90 days. This is 3 times the average, so if you want to buy the desk but are concerned you may not like it, the AirLift S3 gives you plenty of time to give it back.
Overall a good desk and very reasonably priced, so I am happy to give it a 4.25 out of 5 stars.
